B-Q MINDED (www.bqminded.eu) is an EU-funded project aiming to develop breakthroughs in quantitative MR imaging such as MR relaxometry and diffusion MRI. B-Q MINDED will offer the
selected early stage researchers (ESR) the opportunity to conduct top-notch research in leading academic institutions, hospitals and industry R&D divisions. During the research there will be strong emphasis on career development and on achieving impact. B-Q MINDED has the ambition to turn the developed algorithms into diagnostic solutions for improved health and care.
Quantib BV was founded in 2012. It provides cutting-edge medical image quantification software and quantitative imaging biomarker services for radiologists, researchers, neurologists, and life science and health care technology companies. Our MR and CT image analysis software enables physicians and researchers to extract imaging biomarkers in a wide range of body sites to support more accurate, faster, and cost-effective diagnoses and prognoses. Quantib has two products on the market that are officially certified for clinical usage. One of these products, Quantib™ Brain, is worldwide marketed and distributed by General Electric Healthcare.
We currently work with 21 team members in the center of Rotterdam, The Netherlands and have recently announced a new partnership with UMC Utrecht. All of our
R&D engineers have a PhD / MSc degree in image analysis. Our Scientific Lead, and co-founder of the company, is prof. Wiro Niessen, head of the Biomedical Imaging Group Rotterdam. He is a full professor both in the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam and the Delft University of Technology, and currently President of the MICCAI. June 2017 the company received the Anthony Fokker prize for best data science start-up in The Netherlands.
As a researcher you will be part of the Quantib team as well as being supported by the Erasmus Medical Center for scientific guidance. Your research focus in this project will be on developing and validating automated MRI biomarker extraction methods specifically for Q-MRI datasets (maps). During your training you will receive full support to learn advanced software development, machine learning and deep learning techniques, and their application in the biomedical domain.
